<p>In this book, the stories of the prophets has been collected from 'Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah' (The Beginning and the End) which is a great work of the famous Muslim exegete and historian Ibn Kathir and has a prominent place in the Islamic literature. The stories of the prophets and all the events in their lives have been reinforced by the Qur'anic Verses and the Sunnah of the Prophet (Saw). Wherever it was necessary, other sources have also been reported for the sake of historical accounts, but on such places a comparative study has been completed to prove the authenticity of the sources. Ibn Kathir has reproduced the views and interpretations of all the great exegetes of the Quran of his time. <p>This small book of Ibn Taymiyya (661/1263-728/1328), the very influential medieval Hanbali jurist, has an importance belied by its size since it is, in fact, an investigation into the origin and nature of the Prophetic Sunnah. In it he debates the value of the consensus of the people of Madina and its standing as evidence. He also deals with the lawful and unlawful, food and drink, usury, acts of worship and other subjects, and compares the school of the people of Madina regarding all these things with the other schools, making it clear that the Madinan school is the soundest of all of them and the closest to the Sunnah and the practice of the Salaf.<br> <br> Although usually linked with hadith-based legal reasoning, in this work Ibn Taymiyya demonstrates the undisputable authority of the practice of the people of Madina, showing how it continued indisputably the authentic expression of the Sunnah of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, during the first three generations of Islam when it was definitively recorded by Imam Malik ibn Anas.
